I have been thinking about the sample I’m required to submit CS, which as things stand is basically Chapter 1. I have included references to System’s Theory because I’m very keen to mention systems change and the chaos that occures as one system dies and another emerges. But it may be, I don’t have space and I’ll need to remove this aspect, focusing only on the quantum philosophy as described by Barad. Quantum mechanics is one of the interdisciplinary contributors to systems thinking.
The message beneath my Level 3 work is about boundaries, the arbitrary nature of them, the way meaning emerges, and the shifts in society which are so very evident at the moment as boundaries dissolve and changes, as the meaning inside boundaries evolves from within. It is a kind of plea to people to see how fixed categorising of things is currently unhelpful, no matter how safe it makes us feel. And it is as Barad says (and I cite in my plan), ‘a habit of the Cartesian mind’. (2007: 49)
