This blog is a space for note-keeping and doodling. Some thoughts may be more developed than others. Posts could be one or two sentences, just an image, or long rambling screeds about topics I am exploring, which extend into several posts/weeks/months.
The site was started in 2017 as a research tool while studying at an online university. Students were expected to keep online records, beginning new websites for each module, but my tendency to witter on at length about far more than the module required meant each site would balloon, had I not created a separate space to record these linked but extra-curricular meanderings. Given this website’s age, there will be broken links on the older pages (not to mention a visible sign of evolving views and formatting). The blog is very useful for me as it helps me to see where I have come from and how the key themes of my research were seeded almost a decade ago. I hope some of the links, questions and even a few of my rambling doodling recordings are helpful for others too. PS. I show many signs of a form of dyslexia, such as an inability to tell left from right, lifelong appalling spelling despite ravenous reading, and a struggle with linear thought. You will find mistakes in these Field Notes.
