Biography
Projects have been featured in various publications and exhibitions, from Derby Quad (2022), to PH Museum’s very first mobile photography book (2019) to B-Part in Berlin (2025). I was recently commissioned by Welcome to Wandsworth to share BHAM💥 as a live event. Published writing includes: Kitsch, the apparatus and a dead theorist for Technoetic Arts and Shifting Power (2025/6), a mediation on cultural material feedback loops within and through the technical image; Beyond Romanticism: Relationship Advice for the Now in Source (2023) asks readers to consider how they value their relationship with different forms of technology; Prompt Engineer for Lexiconia Art (2024) which ponders the deep and entangled etymology of the phrase.
In 2025, an AI image informed by a doodle on my Notes app was included in Prompt Magazine (2025) and at an associated conference in Milan. In November 2025, Kim Shaw (curator) and I (co-producer), along with 13 international artists, launched The Doughnut(W)Hole, a pavilion for The Wrong Biennale, a global, decentralised art event.
After completing a degree in Acting from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1994, I worked as an actor, marketed financial retail products, and taught drama in Further Education colleges. Everything changed again in 2013 when I began a short photography course. Since then, I have increasingly focused on contemporary art and creative research, recently graduating with Distinction from Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London) with an MA in Contemporary Photography. Before that, I obtained a First Class Degree in Photography from The Open College of the Arts (OCA).
