It was good to have the opportunity to talk about my work at this Redeye event a few week’s ago. As we only had five minutes, I decided the best way to go about this would be to read a passage detailing a conversation I had with the app which I’ve collaborated with. This, I hope, reflects feedback loops which I have aimed to explore and express (see Merlin Sheldrake’s Entangled Life 2020 as well as Fritjof Capra and Pier Luigi Luisi’s The Systems View of Life 2014). As such, it continues a trope I’ve latched on to, discussing the project’s themes with the app to guide viewers/readers towards something tangible in a work that inherently makes that difficult due to my deliberate rejection of a sovereign entity/isolated object. As the passage was written specifically for this short minute format, the narrative is very much to the point and deliberately un-obtuse. Here is the talk on video (I begin at 53.26 minutes):
