I had a fun two days back at Central St Martins after applying to an ‘AI Jam’, the details of which a friend doing her PhD there had sent over. The event was sponsored by Higgsfield AI and it was really good to have a large number of credits to play with. Big thanks to them and to Gabriela Tropia (Head of MA Screen at CSM) for the opportunity.
Version 3 (added 15/02/26)
Version 1
I began the Jam with some BHAM💥 images (see Instagram post), but a little accident took me off on a different journey. I will return however return to those initial experiments now that the event is over, in preparation for the live BHAM💥 event at Putney on the 29th March (see below). The films shown here (looped x5) were not the final edit I showed in the feedback session but rather an earlier one and a post-jam version. Perhaps these could do with some colour grading or upscaling, but time constraints meant I wasn’t really too worried about ‘image quality’ – in any case, I tend to prefer a low-fi aesthetic rather than trying to emulate high-octane, high-production values of a commercial. I’d also probably replace the audio with something a little more thoughtful (V1 audio was made in Suno and then reversed and warped a little in Premiere Pro. See V3 for alternative audio edited since as I could nor abide the Suno music even with the warping and reversing). All in all, the event was a lot of fun – a nice escape from work for two days – and having felt somewhat ambivalent about movement and this technology, it was useful to have an opportunity experiment and maybe get over my reservations a little. (That said, I did create a little film which I called Tools back in 2022, but again with some ambivalences).
Incidentally, there were some amazing films made by the other participants. If the opportunity to share them arises, I will do so.

Edited 15/2/26 to add V3 and change commentary to account for both versions.
