I often find myself thinking about specific words, and how they are employed, how they cluster together, and especially how different tribes receive these clusters as some kind of weapon, whether or not the sender meant for them to be. Words and what lies between them, how people respond to them, often makes me think of raw, open festering sores; there is so much terrible and very real sensitivity. A good deal of the struggle between our emerging paradigm and the older, deeper, arguably more rooted one that my friends and many colleagues and I were born into manifests in the language we use (or don’t use). Which is why, a few months ago, I decided to set up a lexicon on my blog. I am bound to reach for a more interesting title eventually but for now, the function will do.
So far, I have written three entries: on Pattern as well as ones for Bias and Tautology.
There is also an open invitation for others to chime in, should they wish. No rush, no deadline, no ‘open call’. Take a look. If it’s your thing and you have a burning desire to contribute or respond to something already there with more than 250 characters or a ‘thumbs up or down’, get in touch (you can do so by email or there’s a form you can use).
