I have removed any hint of the original background (scanner bed). My son said, “mum, I like your art, but you do it too much. Just put one out every few weeks…” I said, “But I’m practicing to try and find what it is!” He wasn’t that impressed and went on to explain how I should come off the internet altogether and then reintroduce myself with some weird internet activity… ” It’s a whole other world out there. He did also show me some cool animation he made in Snapchat for his friend. Something to revisit when I have to make a meme.
I like that the folds and creases and stains are so evident in this. I am also happier with the simple additions and with my own ability to refrain from adding too much, just enough to suggest what these images are exploring. I was not sure about the edges inside the circle by the post, whether to tidy up further or not. I do love this found image which I bought along with the one I posted yesterday in a shop in Kent. There are two more to come.
An earlier version which I wasn’t sure about… I looked at it on an Intagram frame and didn’t like it but looking on my computer screen it is ok. Perhaps the thing I can do will be making several edits with the same image and present them together?
